River Engineering

From time to time, the riverkeeping activities extend to more major works. Photographs, from the 1960s onwards, reveal the latter day changes requiring an engineering approach with.

Historical photographs of heavy machinery being used to reprofile the river banks to alter and speed the flow.

During the winter months bridges are checked and repaired where necessary with new bridges being installed.

Major bank repairs, using felled trees, are featured.
