On the Trail by Night
Night vision images reveal the activities of the wildlife throught the night, with many surprises along the way. The nightly routines of the badgers, foxes and roe deer are captured as they cross one of the river bridges. It was with great luck that a family of otters, a female and her two cubs, was recorded over a period of nine months. The cubs development during that time, plus the manner in which they were protected by their mother, is described. The activities of the mink on the river are revealed, supported by night-time photographs, knowledge that helped to explain some of the predation that was taking place among the water birds in particular. The year-long recording of nightly activity allowed an understanding of the routines and habits of the various species. Learn what mute swans get up to at 3 a.m. in the morning. |
